When your employees are doing their best, anticipate that they'll be making mistakes. Don't you think this is better than them not making any mistakes at all because they're not doing anything vaulable? Being in leadership, you have to know your primary responsibility which is personal accountability.



You are in the forefront on behalf of your team. The same holds true when your team makes errors. You stand up for your team when they make mistakes. This is among the downsides of leadership. Then again, there's the other side of the coin. When your team does excellently, you, as the leader takes the credit.

As a leader, how do you stand up for your team?
For one thing, you'll be acting as the middleman between your subordinates and the upper management. This requires you to be perceptive and judicious. Your good judgment is particularly called for when relaying or filtering information from your bosses down to your subordinates.

Convey information that will be constructive for the team. The same goes when you're delivering a message to your bosses. Extra care is necessary here. You have to know the art of communication or negotiation when you act as a middleman. The upper leadership and your subordinates have to be protected accordingly.

Good Management= More Productivity

A business will want to obtain optimum productivity from its employees. That is a fundamental role of you as an effective manager. Your team has to be able to do more with you managing them. This is the main purpose of management. What are distractions that hamper the productivity of your team? Buffer your employees from these obstacles in their work, otherwise, they'll become less efficient.

What about politics in the workplace? Office politics and networking is a common and useful occurrence in the workplace. It is one of the basic means to meet more contacts and possible clients or business associates.

Customers, too. Be wary, however, because office politics can also distract your employees. Office politics sometimes include in- fighting and back stabbing among the personnel. In this aspect, you have to buffer and manage your team well. Convey the message that they are valuable to the business, and they can do something to increase their value in the organization.

Office gossip is a major distraction in the workplace. Work could slow down and the workplace environment can become tense if rumors spread. Conflict can even ensue. Your managerial task here necessitates proper workplace communication and conflict management.
